nine years ago back in fall 2003, while marc zuckerberg was busy realizing his vision on facebook, i was on the other side of the charles river working on my thesis in a boston apartment, which was about creating a tool to help people reconnect with themselves. I called this the “this is me project.” it was a simple flash-based interface where, as you see prompter text on the computer, you can type in your answer. i thought i was onto something then, but had no idea how that could be turned into anything beyond an academic exercise.
after college, however, life happened. work, marriage, i even became a parent. long forgotten was my thesis project where i explored my interest in human lives.
so i have no idea how i got to become part of memmee. you can call it luck or serendipity maybe. one thing led me to another like any other thing, and one day i was fortunate enough to be part of the creation of this tool for people to remember moments.
it is really astonishing to look back on the course your life takes. i’m grateful to those who have helped me get here and very excited about starting the new year with memmee.
